One of the most revered places in Spokane is Manito Park. This beautiful oasis was created by the Olmsted Brothers and contains all their signature design elements … grand vistas, meandering paths and secluded places to relax. We especially enjoyed the Japanese Garden with its koi pond and arched bridge. A panorama is included in our Panorama Gallery.
We were in Spokane just long enough to learn two of its dirty little secrets. One is the phenomenon known as "Spokane Wages". The magazine Spokane Living stated that wages in Spokane are thirty percent below the national average. This coupled with the fact that housing costs are only ten percent less and medical costs were a whopping twenty-four percent above the national average must make living in Spokane difficult. The other dirty secret is that there is only one North-South artery in and out of town. Traffic on this surface street was congested, making trips slow and tiresome … never thought we would long for a freeway.
Danny enjoyed visiting Airstream of Spokane ... a sparkling new facility with a friendly and enthusiastic staff.
Nick, Karyn and Doug of Airstream of Spokane. Spokane is a delightful town and, since there is so much more to explore, there is absolutely no doubt we will return as soon as possible. Two thumbs up! (Page 3 of 3)
