Welcome!Gypsy TourWashingtonEllensburg

The 1889 brick Cadwell building has unusual horseshoe-shaped windows and a touch of gingerbread. It is now the home of the Kittitas County Historical Museum.

At the entrance to the Ellensburg Public Library, we were greeted by the 7 foot tall Kitt Coyote. This statue set the tone for this small but delightful library. In the lobby we viewed pictures of the striking 1910 Carnegie Library that was demolished in 1967 to make way for this new facility.

Finding a good restaurant in Ellensburg was never a challenge for us … the locals really know how to eat. We savored the moo shu pork at the colorful China Inn, prime rib at the historic Palace Café (1892), and our beloved Americanos (with Internet access) at the funky D & M Coffee Co.

The Land Title Building, originally the Farmer's Bank, was built in 1911 ... and is a fine example of Beaux Arts classicism. Click on the picture for a detailed look.
