Welcome!Gypsy TourUtahLogan

Adjacent to downtown is a National Historic District containing homes from the early pioneer days. We walked the tree shaded Center Street and marveled at the diverse architectural styles. An insight into the polygamy lifestyle was gleaned by a historical plaque that told the story of how one man, in order to placate his two “bickering” wives, had to build each a separate home. The usual custom was to build homes in different parts of town. The humorous twist to this story, however, was that the homes were built directly across the street from one another.

Downtown Logan offers an outstanding variety of architectural details.

The University of Utah is also adjacent to the downtown. We did not tour the campus and missed seeing the renowned Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art and tasting the locally produced Aggie Ice Cream. Two great reasons to return to Logan.

We stayed at the Ramada Hotel Traveland RV Park, which we found to be clean and conveniently located. Since Logan was our first stop in Utah, we were surprised at the lack of places to get a cup of java. Caffe Ibis is the only coffee house in town and we visited frequently. In addition to the smooth Americanos, there was a youthful “vibe” … since most patrons were either University or high school students.
