The Byron Berline Band ... a real crowd pleaser. Some of the folks we met at the show have been coming here for over 10 years. The first few rows are reserved for the season ticket holders. Now that's a loyal following!
Byron ... Greg Burgess ... and Jim Fish.
Byron and his fiddle. He's pretty darn good on the mandolin too.
John Hickman ... arguably the best banjo player today.
As luck would have it, Mason Williams ... Mr. Classical Gas, was the featured guest artist for the evening. He delighted everyone with his wit, humor and musical talent. The fellow on the right, Barry "Bones" Patton, provided a unique percussive sound by playing the Bones.
The blurry fellow in the red shirt is Jim Garling. We really enjoyed hearing him sing the old cowboy songs.
Also featured that evening, the Hunt Brothers ... not to be confused with the Hunt Brothers who tried to corner the Silver Market back in the 70s. These boys are solid gold with talent. That's Jonathan with the banjo ... and Andrew on the fiddle (he also doubles on the mandolin). Postscript We have met many friendly and warm people during our travels ... but nowhere have folks been kinder and more gracious than the citizens of Guthrie. This became self evident during our evening at the Music Hall ... everyone we met was sincerely nice and took a genuine interest in us. A very special thanks to George Wilkerson ... the house MC ... for providing us with excellent seating in the season ticket holders section ... and for obtaining "Fiddle Fan" autographs from the all the musicians.
