It is with trepidation and a new weather radio that we ventured into the bowels of the infamous Tornado Alley. Obviously a state is more than just its weather, but since Oklahoma leads the nation in the most tornadoes per square mile, it’s all we could think about.
Weather is a serious topic here … the state has more weather monitoring equipment than any other place in the world … and TV programming is routinely interrupted for weather updates. After experiencing severe thunderstorm and flood watches and warnings, it was a relief to learn that all that was coming were "popcorn" showers.
