Whiskey Run Creek Winery and Vineyard has an enchanted setting. Located on the site of the old Brownville brewery, the 110 year old barn was moved from another location and positioned over the creek.
Danny met the owner of the winery who gave him a tour of the brick caves that were built in 1866 as part of the original brewery.
The Brownville Village Theater, the oldest repertory theatre in Nebraska, is housed in the old Christian Church building. Besides the theater, Brownville also has a concert hall and several book stores. Who knew such a small village could support such an active art scene?
The Missouri River Museum is located along the Missouri River in the historic steam-powered river boat … the Captain Meriwether Lewis. Constructed in 1932 it did dredging work on the Missouri River. The museum was closed during our visit, so we just snooped around the somewhat unkempt exterior.
While visiting the museum, we were pleasantly surprised to find this marker from the Lewis and Clark Expedition. (Page 2 of 2)
