As Bill Bryson said in The Lost Continent, "Nebraska must be the most unexciting of all the states. Compared with it, Iowa is paradise." This may be too harsh an assessment, after all Kool-Aid, Vice-Grips, Hallmark Cards, President Gerald Ford, Marlon Brando and Malcolm X all had to come from somewhere ... and Nebraska was the place. Then again, less we forget, Nebraska was also the title of a really bad Bruce Springsteen album.
