Another fine example among the many historic homes in Great Falls.

At the Russell Museum, no detail of Charlie Russell’s life is left unexamined. Buffalo hunts fascinated him and he completed more than seventy-five paintings of the subject in his lifetime. Buffalo Hunt # 40 (1919) is one of the more famous.

One of our favorites ... Indians Discovering Lewis and Clark (1896).

"Sacajawea — Montana to the Pacific" by Amy Burnett

Scattered around town we kept seeing large colorful artist-embellished fiberglass buffalos and billboards that stated "Get the Bull". We learned that the Russell Museum sponsored The Buffalo Hunt and would auction them off as a fund raiser.

"Saving the Buffalo" by Howard Friedland ... buffalo nickels anyone?
