The Creston Museum had an incredible display of turn-of-the-century General Store merchandise.
Minutes from downtown, is Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area … home to over 265 bird species and a major stop over for migrating Tundra Swans.
We missed the Ranger lead canoe tours through the areas waterways … it looks so inviting, maybe next time.
As the sign indicates, this area is turtle nirvana.
Danny took the tour of Creston’s Columbia Brewery makers of Kokanee Beer … a wildly popular brew throughout the Northwest.
Kootenay Lake, a massive 90 mile long lake fed by the Columbia Ice Fields, is just north of Creston. A short drive up the shore is the Glass House … an unusual roadside attraction constructed by a former mortician in 1953. Constructed from a half million empty square embalming fluid bottles, it stands as a compelling piece of art.
The craftsmanship is spectacular … this dollhouse kitchen stole our hearts.
