Chapel of the Gila: This is the last remaining mission church of the Territorial days and was the first Catholic Church built in central Arizona. The building was to be bulldozed in 1979 but saved through extraordinary efforts of the town and Dr. Harris Sobin ... a dedicated Tucson architect. We found an exposed section of the original roof which uses ribs from the saguaro cactus.
Jesus Presiado de Luna/Bernardina Lorona House: Built in 1880 ... it is a fine example of a Sonoran corner-type row house. This building has always been a residence. (Page 3 of 3)
